Registration will open on September 15th.
All riders must reserve and park in a hookup spot. Only day riders that day ride the intro ride are exempt.
Hookups include water and electric (no septic). Dump station available.
When you arrive, you will be directed to a temporary parking area where you will unload your horse and walk your horse to the stall. Please unload quickly as others will likely be waiting. You will then be directed to your hookup spot.
Only horses registered for the ride may be brought onsite. Every horse must be stalled (only exception is day intro riders); horses may not be kept or tacked at your trailer (again, only exception is day intro riders). No extra stalls can be reserved. You may wish to bring shavings for your stall.
All riders are responsible for cleaning up their stalls and removing all hay. Muck carts will be available, and signs will point to manure pile. Any rider that leaves a mess will be posted to a wall of shame and disallowed from attending the ride next year.
Size of stalls will be posted on the registration page.
Get as dirty as you can and then take a hot shower! Ride camp features rest rooms and showers.
Lots of spigots in camp for water for the horses, plus 6 wash racks. Bring hoses.
Vegetable lasagna dinner is included on Friday for all riders. Extra meals are available but must be pre-paid.
A food truck will be available to purchase food items for lunch on Saturday.
To enjoy baked chicken dinner on Saturday (not included in registration fee), designate on your entry form.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the beach or creek areas.
Dogs that bark consistently when you're not there should be left at home. You must clean up after your dog.
If you're coming into Florida, you must stop at an Ag Station and present a valid health certificate.
You may not bring your horse to your trailer for tacking, crewing, or any other reason.
Because your horse will not be at your trailer at any time, bring a wheeled cart to transport hay, saddle, and other items to the stall and/or crewing area.
Both archery and small game season are open on November 22nd. Please wear orange or another bright color!
We've co-existed with hunting seasons in past years with no issues. Maximize safety by wearing bright colors.
All riders must wear helmets when mounted. No exceptions.
Safety is paramount for all riders, vets, and volunteers.
Please be sure to thank the vets and volunteers!
The trails at Blackwater State Forest are beautiful. Gentle hills, mostly jeep trails. You will go through a shallow river crossing or two.
In general, very good footing. There are a few gravel road crossings and short stretches of gravel road (few hundred feet). There's enough room to get off to the side or slow down if your horse is barefoot.
All vet checks in camp, and no crewing on trail.
Bring buckets and other items to set up a crew area.
A farrier will be available on a fee basis.
Intro ride: 10 miles (1 loop)
25: 2 loops
50: 3 loops
The first loop of the 50 is 25 miles long and includes an optional stop in camp.
Come ride a 10-mile loop and become acquainted with endurance riding. Intro riders will leave after all other distances and will have the loop to yourselves for about 2 hours. A maximum of 12 intro riders can join the fun.
If you're local and riding the intro, you can arrive in the morning with your horse and be a day rider. The intro ride starts at 9:00 AM, so please arrive by 8:00 AM so that you have plenty of time to vet in by 8:30 AM and saddle up. Only intro riders that are just onsite for the day are not required to rent a stall.
If your horse has good hooves, all loops can be ridden barefoot. Most trails are double track, but there are some single tracks, as well as some areas of deep sand.
A couple of short perilous areas will be be marked with red tape and WALK signs. Any rider that does not go slow through these areas is subject to disqualification.
